This degree programme produces highly qualified graduates with knowledge and skills towards sustainable management of aquatic resources and environment. Students shall learn the concepts, theories, and methodologies to tackle emerging problems related to aquaculture and aquatic sciences. The teaching methods shall include lectures, tutorial/ seminars, and assignments, Practical Training as well as self study. Our graduates are highly demanded by the NGOs, Government and private institutions where they work as Fisheries Managers, Aquatic Ecologists, Marine Resources Conservationists, etc.

Application procedure

At UDOM all applications are done via Online Application System (UOAS) available at https://application.udom.ac.tz. The system is user friendly and it allows applicants to smoothly and easily complete application exercise. Applicants will be required to fill-in the online application form and upload copies of relevant academic credentials as required. Once application is completed, applicants will be notified about their selection status in due course.

All selected applicants shall be required to register for studies in a respective academic year. For registration exercise to be completed, selected applicants shall be required to pay full or half amount of the tuition fees and all other direct costs payable to the University. International students are required to have a valid study visa before completing registration and commencing their studies.

Grant opportunities

Majority of our students get funding via the Higher Education Students Loans Board (HESLB). In addition, there are few available sources of funding through individuals and organizations like the Mo Scholarship for supporting needy students. Limited scholarships are offered by the university in the form of Tuition Fees waiver in some programmes.

Direct Entry Qualifications

Two principal passes in Science subjects, one of which must be in Biology.

Equivalent Entry Qualifications

Diploma in Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences, Marine Sciences, Agriculture, Forestry or Botany with an average of “B’’ or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “C” grade in Biology at O-Level.
