Somalia is blessed with the longest coastline in Africa. However, the nation lacks Marine Science professionals to help protect and profit from these vast waters and coasts. The Bachelor of Science in Fisheries & Aquatic Science is a four year program designed to produce graduates with well-rounded subject matter knowledge as well as strong research and technical skills.

Upon completion of the Bachelor Degree in Fisheries & Aquatic Sciences program, students will be able to:
- Discuss the complex interactions between the biological, chemical, geological and physical aspects of the ocean.
- Use technical skills in fishery sciences.
- Conduct independent scientific research in the marine context.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills in the marine context, using the scientific method.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication of Marine Science topics.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and explain the salient global maritime issues and their implications for Somalia and the region.
- Successfully demonstrate results of the strong experiential learning components offered in the program.
Prerequisites
The admissions requirements for the undergraduate degree programs at City are:
- Completion of an application package.
- Evidence of the successful completion of Secondary Education. And;
- A passing grade of the City University Entrance Exam.
