Program is designed to equip trainees with knowledge and skill to meet the market requirements in the Maritime Industry as Marine Mechanics (local) and to qualify as Engine Ratings, to serve on board Merchant Ships of unlimited propulsion power (International).  This Training Program conforms the requirements of the International Standards such as Regulation A-III/4 of the IMO STCW 78 (as amended),and further validated by  SQA (Seychelles Qualifications Authority) and SMSA ( Seychelles Maritime Safety Administration).  Possessing the certificate in Advanced Marine Mechanics  with the completion of the mandatory STCW short courses fulfill  the preliminary requirement to apply  for Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC)  which enables to work on internationally trading merchant ships, Local Yachts as a rating or to work on local Marine workshops. Boundless career prospects are guaranteed starting from the capacity of certified  basic Marine Engineer to  Chief Engineer(class 1- unlimited) on ships  trading internationally and locally.

Prerequisites

Entry Criteria

Academic Pathway 

  • Should have attained a (D) grade in English, Mathematics & Combined Science at IGCSE Level

  • STCW & MLC 2006 Convention medical fitness

  • ROA  activities in Maritime industry

Technical Pathway 

  • Two years industry experience (Work Experience on small craft)

  • Candidates from other Post Secondary Institutions

  • STCW & MLC 2006 Convention medical fitness
