Course Description
The demand for fish in domestic and international markets is increasing rapidly due to population growth, urbanization, increasing income and propensity to consuming fish. Considering limited supply from capture fishery, developing aquaculture to meet the demand for fish is thus crucial. The skills gap needs to be filled, and thus an urgent need for revising existing aquaculture curriculum in order to strengthen relevant areas such as fish nutrition, water quality monitoring, as well as compliance with environmental standards. Also, to broaden its scope and reinforce key areas including cage farming and other intensive resource-efficient technologies.

Prerequisites
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects, AND A holder of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) with a minimum of one Principal Pass and one Subsidiary from Science subjects. OR
Holder of Basic Technician certificates (NTA Level 4) in Aquaculture technology, Agriculture, Fish Processing, Quality Assurance and Marketing, Fisheries Science and Technology, Fisheries Management and Technology, Food Science, Animal health, Human Nutrition and Environment
